About Us And Our Objectives The St. Louis Military Retiree Council (SLMRC) is a sub-council of the Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri Retiree Council. It is comprised of retired officers and noncommissioned officers of all military services including reserve components.
Our MissionOur goal is to preserve and protect the interests of the retired military community as well as the active military community. Collectively, we strive to educate retirees, widows of retired service members, the community, and our elected officials about issues which affect the quality of life of the men and women who served and continue to serve our nation.
Our MeetingsThe SLMRC meets quarterly to discuss current issues and to follow up on old issues. Please refer to the Next Meeting link for the location of the next meeting. Information from the Ft. Leonard Wood Retiree Council is disseminated to the members and it is discussed. Comments and proposed resolutions are taken back by the co-chairmen. Congressional legislation affecting the retired and active community is discussed and courses of action is agreed upon to protect our interests. Guest speakers are welcome to attend any of our meetings to discuss issues and programs related to retirement and veterans benefits.
